Injuries can be destabilizing. Whether you are young or old, an active sports player or simply a manual laborer, when an injury strikes, it can change everything about your life. Think about the soccer player who has her knee dislocated, the baseball pitcher who tears muscles in his arm, or the manual laborer who gets a repetitive strain injury. There is certainly immediate damage, but now weeks, if not months, of physical therapy, stretching and healing must take place before they’re normal again.

Founded in 1998, the Department of Physical Therapy at Hungkuang University was established to help our students develop into the professional physical therapists the world needs. With a focus on humanitarian values, a commitment to excellence, and a desire to fulfill meaningful service to impact the positive outcome of people’s heath, we continue to motivate our students to be the compassionate and caring professionals the world needs them to be.

The Department of Physical Therapy is dedicated to developing students into physical therapists with subspecialties:
Sport injury prevention and exercise instruction
Long-term care and reablement
Assistive devices production

Our faculty members all have plenty of clinical experience in medical institutions with musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary and pediatric specialties. And many of our graduates have gone on to become physical therapists in medical institutions and exercise instructors, while others have opened physiotherapy clinics of their own.

So, if you love helping people in your community and want to make a difference in the lives of people, consider reading about our program in more depth. And if physical therapy is your future, consider applying to our program today and join us in alleviating the pain and suffering of members in our community.
